Maybe you are seing often those terms and don’t know the difference between them. If UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) aren’t the same thing, there are working together. But don’t worry, i’m going to enlighten you on this subject.

UI and UX

UX, User Experience

UX is the function and come before the UI in the development process. The UX objective is to create an interface that complete all functionalities requested by the specifications. However, the UX needs to think about the user experience (that’s explain its name) to have it the more accessible, fluid and pleasant for him.

UI, User Interface

The UI is the form. The UI needs to bring the interface visually pleasant, intuitive to use. The UI has to be nice to look and has to match with the graphical convention.

So we can find in the UI all graphical elements (colors, images, polices, menus, buttons,…) and their disposal.

User interface and experience

UI and UX are working together. An UX can’t work without an UI to give him a form and an UI is useless without any objectives, purposes.

There should have a good balance between both of them because no UI can save a bad UX even if it’s a beautiful UI. No UI can be saved if the UX gives a poor experience, complicated or laborious to the user.
